Awards

The Connecticut Association of Housing Code Enforcement Officials, Inc. recognizes and awards individuals, businesses and organizations for outstanding service and accomplishments.

For many years, CAHCEO has presented many types of awards for recognition, appreciation and service to the organization and the public at large.  These awards are a symbol of the association's desire to honor the recipient(s) for their accomplishments.  Awards come in many forms such as certificates, trophies, plaques, medallions and other various objects.

CAHCEO encourages all members to avail themselves of service to the association as Officers of the Corporation (Board of Directors), committee members and outstanding service and professionalism to the public which all code officials serve.  Recipients of awards are generally chosen by approval of the Board of Directors.  On occassion, the President may present deserving individuals with special recognition awards called President's Awards.

The Distinguished Service Award was renamed on June 13, 2008 in honor of an individual who dedicated much of his personal time for the advancement of housing code in the state.  Even though this person is not a Founding Father of the organization, but because of the work to make CAHCEO a leading educational organization within our State and beyond, the entire Executive Board unanimously agreed to rename the Distinguished Service Award in honor of this special individual.  This award will now be known forever more as the John C. Watson, Sr. Distinguished Award.

Most awards are given out at CAHCEO Annual Meetings.
