Kimberly Norman‑Rosedam is a trailblazing building official who made history as the first Black woman licensed as a building official and to lead a building department in Connecticut and throughout New England. A third‑generation contractor, she began her career as a commissioner on the Zoning Board of Appeals before serving as a construction inspector and plan reviewer for the City of Stamford, and now oversees all building inspection and code‑enforcement activities for the Town of Guilford. She holds certifications: Building Official, Residential Building Inspector, Real Estate Salesperson, State Home Improvement Contractor, and Lead Renovation, Repair & Painting Contractor—and champions innovation, sustainability, and the mentorship of emerging women professionals in her field.
